Why did you make this site?
Over the past 10 years I’ve been more or less consistently invested in promoting facts to counter the influence of widespread fallacies. The government has too many secrets, the media doesn’t tell us what they know, and most everyone else is trying to sell us something. So how do we know what the heck is really going on!?! How do we separate the fantasies, commercials, and conspiracy theories from the important facts?
I believe strongly that people need to keep each other educated about the boundary between fact and fiction and demand the truth from influential public figures.
Unfortunately, in my experience it can be really taxing to run a website that’s all about serious things. And getting burnt out on the weight of the world’s problems doesn’t help anyone.
So I’ve been trying to find a project that let’s me educate while also laughing a bit. And a project that brings people together who feel the same way.
How did you make this site?
This site was built using WordPress. It’s my own design, a custom build using no theme and very few plugins or default widgets. Like all my sites, it’s set up using sound usability and SEO principles. The site utilizes a Post Ratings plugin that I customized to provide the sorting functionality. The site also utilizes a front-end login/registration system that keeps the WordPress dashboard hidden.
I’m currently working freelance and available for hire. I can help you plan, design, and build a blog, portfolio site, or online store with a good deal of expertise and at a competitive rate.
